37 Feet

This weekend while at the lak, we took a drive to Kerr Dam. It was soooo cool!
Here are some facts about Kerr Dam:
*Kerr Dam is 205 Feet High and 541 Feet Long
*Kerr Dam is a hydroelectric dam - It has 3 turbines that generate power for PPL Montana
*Kerr Dam produces 426,749,000 kwh annually
*Kerr Dam is about 37ft taller than Niagara Falls!
*When Kerr Dam was constructed in the 30's it raised the lake level 10 feet

It's a huge hike down the stairs to the vista (350 steps i think), and an even bigger hike back to the parking lot. But totally worth it!

Apparently, all gate are open to keep the lake below full pool until the snow all melts. If for some reason (like the sun melts it all?) the snow melts too fast and the water goes into the lake faster than it can get out, then the powers that be say to expect the possibility of flooding 2 feet above pool! That's about a foot above the dock!
